Woodland Daycare & Preschool is a high quality home based preschool and childcare program on the west side of Nine Mile Falls, Washington.
Cheryl is licensed for 8 children, 2 years and older. Being a small in home child care enables her to offer the one on one care that young children need. 
Our School Family is a safe and loving environment, where we help build your child's self-esteem, let them know they are loved and free to explore their curiosity.

INDOOR PLAYTIME
​
We offer a loving and relaxed atmosphere where children are able to explore, discover, create, learn and play. We have a bright, clean and organized daycare that is arranged with different centers that are each set up to encourage hands on learning through play. 
While inside, the children have the block area, housekeeping, our reading library, science area, light table, sensory table, art area, writing center, and manipulatives. Children are able to work and play individually or play in groups,
and choose which areas they want to be in. 
​Everything is labeled for the children. They are able to clean up their toys because our baskets for toys and the space on the shelves are all labeled with pictures and words. This makes clean up time easier for the kids and helps them feel empowered!

OUTDOOR PLAY

Woodland Daycare and Preschool rests on 10 wooded acres of land. Our playground is nestled in a fenced in, very large playscape! Kids are provided with a massive sand pit that has a row boat that they can pretend play in. They have a large mud kitchen, a cozy area to escape all the noise if they'd like, a teeter totter, tunnel, and a concrete pad to play basketball or drive cars on.  We have an art easel to express our creative side along with plenty of loose parts to explore. There is a slide built into the grassy hill where children can use their large muscles to climb up and roll down.  We also have a large garden where the children are able to help plant, water, pick and eat all the delicious fruits and vegetables. We also enjoy plenty of water play, whether that be at one of the water tables, the sprinkler, the mud kitchen, or the hose.  While outside are are able to watch and listen to the hundreds of birds, wild turkey, little chipmunks, several deer and even moose!!! 
When weather permits, we go on nature walks through the back 9 acres. I will say, we are truly blessed here with all the natural wildlife and beauty!

We believe children learn by doing, getting messy, investigating their questions, and problem solving with their friends. They learn by playing games, using their imaginations, expressing their emotions, creating, and exploring the world around them, in a safe and nurturing environment.

Quite often we will set up intentional play activities and explorations that meet the needs of individual children. We question and extend their thinking and play to help them learn and grow. We intentionally plan and organize the play area, so children have the opportunity to develop in the areas of social emotional, language and literacy, math, science, creative arts, fine motor, as well as physically.

It is our goal to help children develop confidence in their abilities and skills to become lifelong learners and be successful in kindergarten and life.

​We are dedicated to creating a warm and nurturing environment that allows children to develop at their own
​unique rate. Children need to feel safe and confident to learn and grow.
We believe that an effective child care works as a partner with parents, working together for the best interest of the child. We encourage parents to make suggestions and ask questions. We believe in open communication. 
Woodland Daycare and Preschool gladly accepts class donations. We love items your child no longer
